Every so often there’s a significant amount of Bay Area specific comic related news. When the pile of news is high enough I turn it into an article of blurbs called “The Bay Area Bugle.” The news can essentially be anything as long as it’s comic related and somehow based in the Bay Area. For example, Dynamite will soon publish a comic based on the tv series Charmed. Charmed takes place in San Francisco so it justifies a mention. I wrote one last week and you can read it here. Find out about a Bay Area artist who was indirectly featured on Black Mirror, a haute couture kickstarter project featuring a couple of local artists, big VR related news for Berkeley’s MadeFire, and more.

I’ve started adding a “what” to the listings in an effort to make this list more useful. Next issue will have a “what” with every event.

It provides an opportunity to showcase the fashion illustration talents of Kevin Wada. Wic/Div co-creator Kieron Gillen populated the content by hosting roleplay conversations with legit culture journalists who in turn generated the articles.
